Housing Discrimination Workshops

The Center has partnered with Project Sentinel to provide two educational workshops on housing discrimination. The first is Wed., Feb 3, at 6 p.m. and the other is Sat,, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. Both are at the Center, 1927 L Street in Sacramento, for members of the community. Renters will especially want learn about fair housing laws.

The presenter, Catherine Bonanno, works with Project Sentinel and investigates suspected housing discrimination claims and educates communities on their housing rights.

The workshop will be a general overview of fair housing law and what members of the community should look out for, as well as how to get help if they or someone they know experiences housing discrimination. In addition to gender or sexual orientation, the workshop will cover housing rights in relation to familial status, race, ethnicity, ability, age, and religion.
