March For Equality2021-04-29T15:56:14-07:00

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center in partnership with Equality California, The California Endowment, and a coalition of community groups have organized to stand in solidarity and March for Equality before Sacramento Pride.

With so many communities under threat and facing bigotry and hate, it’s time for us all to come together to promote love and #ResistHate. Please join us as an advocate, ally, friend, or family member and March for Equality in Sacramento on Saturday, June 3 at 9 a.m.  as we gather to march for equality before the Sacramento Pride Parade.

This may be the first time you’ve participated in any LGBTQ+ or Pride event. If so, this march is a perfect opportunity for the many diverse communities that make up Sacramento to build bridges and become united. The LGBTQ+ community includes people of every race, faith tradition, immigration status, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Members of our community and our allies are experiencing increased levels of hostility and discrimination and we must stand united to overcome these threats. Stand with us and be part of one of many equality marches happening all over the country in June.

Each time we stand up for our values, work to make our communities safe and welcoming, or fight for justice, we create hope. Hope that can save lives, hope that can inspire, and hope that can bring us together to resist hate.  This year as we head into Pride season, hope will be our guiding principle. Together we will march for equality, justice, and opportunity, together we will build relationships, and together we will bend the arc of justice through education, advocacy, and mobilization.

We are a beautiful, diverse, and resilient community whose commitment to justice is unwavering. We love who we love, we are who we are, and no amount of hate will diminish our pride.

If you share our values, want to march, and are interested in working with us to strengthen our diverse communities, join us in Sacramento on June 3rd. We will begin to assemble at 9:00am at Crocker Park on the corner of 3rd and O Streets in Sacramento. The march down N Street will begin at 10 a.m.
