More than safe and welcome… but thriving.

The Center strives to ensure that everyone can find a place where they feel safe, welcome, and needed.  The Center’s diverse menu of community groups reflect the desire by providing peer support to marginalized populations within the LGBTQ+ community. All groups are free and welcome new participants that are part of the group’s focus.

12-Step Support Groups

The Center is happy to host several different LGBTQ+ focused 12 step recovery groups. The LGBTQ+ population experiences a disproportionately high rate of substance abuse. It is estimated that 20-30 percent of gay and transgender people abuse substances, compared to approximately 9 percent of the general population. The Sacramento LGBT Community Center hosts addiction recovery groups each week to support a healthier community. All groups are open to anyone affected by substance abuse.
