The Center strives to ensure that everyone can find a place where they feel safe, welcome, and needed. The Center’s diverse menu of community groups reflect the desire by providing peer support to marginalized populations within the LGBTQ+ community. All groups are free and welcome new participants that are part of the group’s focus.

Center Support Groups
Coming Out Support Group – ONLINE – Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m.
The Coming Out Support Group focuses on the many emotions and experiences associated with coming out as LGBTQ+. There is no single right way to come out or if to come out at all. This group meets online on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m.
Queer Yoga – IN-PERSON – Mondays 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Golden Grounds – ONLINE – Saturdays 10-11:30 a.m.
A group of senior LGBTQ+ individuals committed to meeting regularly for the sole purpose of enriching the group through sharing insights, experiences, and wisdom from what we’re doing presently with our lives and what we’ve done during our lifetimes. Golden Grounds meets online on Saturdays from 10-11:30 a.m. Please register to our group on meetup.com in order to receive announcements of upcoming meetings and cancellations.
All LGBTQ+ seniors who are interested in living up to their full potential are welcome. Please come with your visionary hats on, your bucket list if you have one, and your secrets for a happy, healthy, productive, and prosperous life!
Women’s Coffee Night – ONLINE – First and third Tuesdays 6-7:30 p.m.
Women’s Coffee Night is for self-identified women of all ages seeking a supportive, social environment.
We meet at the Center, from 6-7:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
QTPOC Support Group – IN-PERSON – Second and fourth Fridays from 7-8 p.m.
This is a safe space for LGBTQQIA-POC community members to come and engage in a dialogue about relevant issues–where anything and everything can be discussed without feeling judged. All individuals who identify as people of color are welcome at this group to gain support, insight, and find a general sense of community and family. This group meets on the second and fourth Fridays from 7-8 p.m.

Trans Support Group – ONLINE – First and third Sundays from 6-7 p.m.
The Transgender Support Group unites people who identify as transgender, gender-queer, or non-binary to provide, share and discuss transition-related information and resources; and to create a setting for developing social connections.
Anyone struggling with gender identity or gender expression, thinking about transition, looking for resources or just wanting to learn more about gender identity, expression, or transition is welcome to come and discuss experiences and life-situations.
This small-group setting is all-inclusive, open to people of all genders and presentations, and at any stage of transition. The group meets online on first and third Sundays from 6-7 p.m.
Twenty-Somethings Group – IN-PERSON – 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month, from 6-7:30 p.m.
The 20-Somethings Group focuses on issues common to our community, including but not limited to socializing, networking and career development, and community service involvement. The group meets at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center on 1st & 3rd Thursdays, from 6-7:30 p.m., and is open to those ages 20-29.

12-Step Support Groups
The Center is happy to host several different LGBTQ+ focused 12 step recovery groups. The LGBTQ+ population experiences a disproportionately high rate of substance abuse. It is estimated that 20-30 percent of gay and transgender people abuse substances, compared to approximately 9 percent of the general population. The Sacramento LGBT Community Center hosts addiction recovery groups each week to support a healthier community. All groups are open to anyone affected by substance abuse.
