What to expect when you arrive at the Center? *Updated May 11, 2023*
- Clients who enter our Lavender Heights and South Sacramento locations, as well as any Center-hosted off-site events, will not be required to provide proof of vaccination. There will also be no temperature screenings required to enter facilities and events.
- There are no general mask requirements for employees, volunteers, or clients in our facilities or at our events. Masks are not required in large meeting spaces, the Q-spot, administrative offices, or common areas.
- Any client may request that an employee or volunteer wear a mask during their close contact interactions and the employee or volunteer must comply without judgment, regardless of setting.
- All clients and guests entering our facilities will still be logged. Clients and guests who are visibly experiencing symptoms of any illness will be asked to sanitize their hands, wear a mask while in our facilities, and offered a self-test kit.
FREE COVID-19 TESTING
Beginning November 1, 2022, the Center will no longer offer on-site testing. Great news! There are still free testing sites available throughout Sacramento and surrounding areas. Please visit this website for free testing locations and times near you: https://myturn.ca.gov/testing.html

You’ve tested positive for Covid-19 now what?
Several COVID-19 treatment options are available in the United States. If you become ill, a healthcare provider may decide you are eligible for COVID-19 treatment if you are at high risk of developing severe illness from COVID-19 and recently tested positive and have mild or moderate symptoms. Do not delay seeking treatment, as many Covid-19 treatment drugs must be used soon after your symptoms start.

COVID-19 Message
For more than 40 years the Center has supported the health and wellness of the most marginalized. The health and safety of our clients, staff, and community are of paramount importance. We currently follow the advice of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) the State and County Departments of Public Health. All visitors to the Center are required to wear a mask indoors, and are required to have their temperature checked at the front desk. Masks are provided to visitors if they do not have one.

Vaccinations save lives, when you get vaccinated you’re less likely to:
Get COVID-19
Experience severe symptoms or hospitalization if you are infected
Spread illness to vulnerable loved ones and community members
The more vaccinated our community is, the safer we’ll all be, and the closer we will be to ending this pandemic.
The virus mainly spreads between people who are in close contact with one another (within 6 feet) when an infected person coughs or sneezes and respiratory droplets from that person land in the mouth or nose or are possibly inhaled into the lungs of another person
Ways you can protect yourself and others in preventing illness include:
GET VACCINATED: The CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines for their age group:
Children and teens aged 6 months–17 years
Adults aged 18 years and older
Get regularly tested to keep yourself and loved ones safe.
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms:
- Fever
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Shortness of breath
Please stay home and contact your medical provider.

Cover your cough/sneeze
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
Wash/sanitize your hands frequently
Disinfect your phone and other commonly touched items.
