The Sacramento LGBT Community Center makes STI and HIV testing more accessible with its at-home testing kits. The Center’s Health Services Department expanded their at-home testing to include Gonorrhea and Chlamydia testing. The testing process is easy, the tests themselves are free, and the Center can mail you your at-home STI or HIV test in discreet packaging. Each testing kit also contains items to help promote a safer, healthier sex life with condoms, lube, contact information if you have any questions or concerns and post-test counseling where you can discuss the next steps.

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center adds more life-saving products through its harm-reduction program, including Narcan, fentanyl testing strips, condoms, and pregnancy tests.

The Center recently added Narcan to its list of harm-reduction services. Narcan is a life-saving medicine that, in emergencies, can be used to reverse opioid overdose. When administered, Narcan works by blocking specific receptors in your body that opioids bind to; once Narcan blocks these receptors, symptoms of opioid overdose can quickly go away.

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center’s Marsha P. Johnson Center South will be holding its March to Zero HIV and AIDS awareness and education event. Folks in the community can stop by the South Sacramento Center location and receive free HIV testing, education provided by Gilead, and other resources. Everyone who gets an HIV test will also receive a free $25 gift card!

Also, throughout March, everyone who gets an HIV Test at Marsha P. Johnson Center South or completes an at-home HIV test (which includes test and post-test counseling) will be entered to win two Sol Blume tickets! Sol Blume is an annual music festival in the heart of Sacramento where like-minded individuals can gather to celebrate some of today’s most acclaimed R&B, soul, and hip-hop music acts, emphasizing art, culture, love, social diversity, and good vibes.
