Friendsgiving 2019

The 4th Annual Friendsgiving was in full swing at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2019. The day started with volunteers setting up with decorations around the Center and heating up food donations to serve to community members. Volunteers came in full force and included community members, allies, and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. This event would not have been successful without the help of those who volunteered, donated, helped serve food, and fill the space with their positive energy.

The food donations ended up being more than enough to serve over 100+ meals in the community. The festivities served all the fixins of the holiday season including turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mac n cheese, bread rolls, and delicious vegan food options. It’s events like these that bring together our community more than ever. Seeing folks come in and dedicate a small portion of their time to help make someone else’s day is a tradition we look forward to continuing.

The Center would like to thank all the donors and volunteers that made all the day possible for the community at large. Until next year!

Happy Holidays!
