As we monitor the ever-changing conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting the health and safety of our community remains our primary goal. COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to drop dramatically across the region and the State has issued a new SMARTER Plan for the next phase of California’s COVID-19 Response focused on preparations to respond to future COVID-19 surges or variants. The consensus amongst public health officials is that we are moving into the endemic phase where the risk of widespread infection that leads to serious illness and a high number of deaths has been significantly reduced.
This means that the Center will begin to ease its Temporary Omicron Surge Protocols that were put in place at the beginning of January, while also continuing to monitor the situation and make additional changes as appropriate going forward.
The following protocols are effective immediately (as of 2/20/22)
- All persons entering Center facilities for in-person services by appointment at our Lavender Heights or Marsha P. Johnson Center South locations must now show proof of being fully vaccinated to CDC standards (at least two doses + two weeks). The only exception is for those who are accessing COVID-19 testing or vaccination clinics.
- In-person activities and events may resume at Center facilities.
- In-person group meetings including support groups and external group facility users may resume at Center facilities.
- Walk-in service hours, the Q-Spot drop-in, and other in-person services will resume.
- Outdoor events will no longer require masks.
- Masks will still be required to be worn (covering nose and mouth) indoors at all Center facilities.
- Saturday and Sunday walk-in service hours may resume.
- COVID-19 testing remains available at both Lavender Heights and Marsha P. Johnson Center South locations by appointment with walk-in appointments being available. Please visit saccenter.org or call (916) 442-0185 to schedule a test today.
- Please email info@saccenter.org to find out if a group is still meeting!
We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we update our COVID-19 protocols, and we look forward to having you back at the Center!
If the above changes create a barrier to service due to a medical condition, community members may request accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act by contacting the executive assistant Rebecca (rebecca.holm-meynig@saccenter.org or (916) 442-0185).
