Join our LGBTQ+ Townhall: Sac PD Interactions with TGNC Community

In 2019, stakeholders came together to develop a standard for police interactions with transgender and gender nonconforming community members.

We’re now looking for community input on the policy as we work with the City of Sacramento Community Police Review Commission and other community organizations to have this policy adopted by the Sacramento Police Department.

We know that this policy is only the first step toward more equitable treatment of the most marginalized LGBTQ+ people in our community.

Join this townhall and help us create a more just world.

You can read the draft policy here: https://bit.ly/SACLGBTTOWNHALL

While this event will be simultaneously streamed to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sacLGBTcenter) and via zoom (register here), those who wish to actively participate during the discussion portion of the townhall please register for the zoom webinar.

Can we count on you?

"Felix, Ash, and Bryn were unsheltered for over three months here in Sacramento... 2,328 miles away from where they were originally from. These best friends fled Tennessee to pursue a new chapter in California - and what better place than its capital? They believed this recent change would bring more opportunities and an affirming place they could call home... "
